We receive energy from the food we eat and the air we breathe. It is believed that there is also a natural energy which flows through our bodies, and that, if the flow is inhibited – for example by tension due to stress or injury – imbalance may occur. This imbalance may lead to disorders and further stress to body systems. Reflexology aims to stimulate the energy flow by massage of the reflex areas of the feet, which correspond to each body part.

The Treatment

During treatment, any imbalance in a part of the body may be felt as tenderness in the feet. After treatment, if toxic build-ups are released and waste materials removed, temporary discomfort may result. However, once a balanced flow of energy is re-established, a state of increased well-being and vitality may be achieved.

An initial reflexology consultation and treatment usually lasts approximately one hour. Subsequent treatments then last approximately 3/4 hour. Frequency of treatment varies from person to person, as do the total number of treatments needed.
